Autumn special week in Slovakia

The children measured the temperatures in groups every day. Each class made two bilingual tables and wrote down information about their activities, clothing and the temperatures. The pupils also drew  weather symbols. All pupils had their own tables in their exercise books.

Comenius Meeting in Germany 24.4.-28.4.2013.

The last Comenius meeting was held in lovely Germany at the end of April 2013. Here are some pictures from the trip. Enjoy!

We stayed at a lovely Gasthaus.

On the second day we had the honour to hear the schoolchildren's performances.

The school had practised a musical around an environmental theme: the children cleaned up the playground and came up with ways to sustain the environment.

The costumes were lovely.

Every Comenius country got a tree. Here's part of the Slovakian team.

Then planted the trees in the school yard. Team Finland (Anu, Mikko and Laura) and our tree.

Planting the Finnish tree.

The Comenius team and the trees.

All trees in line.

We also had the chance to observe lessons. Here's the music lesson.

The children were practising the C major scale with iPads on the music lesson.

Arts lesson.

Practising a play at the English lesson.

The newspaper article from Töölöläinen was on the school noticeboard! (written by pupils from class 6C)

Trees were in full blossom.

Visiting the Castle of Siegen.

Castle gardens.

Visiting the Dome in Cologne.

Time for goodbyes.

This the end of our climate project and also the last blog post by team Finland. We wish to thank all our partners as well as teachers and staff at Töölö Primary School for a successful project and excellent cooperation. The meeting in Germany was a perfect ending to these two years. The whole Comenius team concluded that the project had been a successful one, and we hope there's more to come in the future!
