Germany

 Special week in June 2012

The weather is unpredictable at the moment - one day it's warm and sunny and the next day it pours down. Here you can see the school's playground all wet.

Still there are days promising a warm summer.

This flowers make yummy sirup.

Special week in April 2012

During springtime in Germany you will see loads of colourful flowers growing in the meadows.

The children came up with creative ideas of how to use the flowers.

The daffodils are typical for Easter. If you translate the German name literally they are called "Easter bells".

The Grade 4s went out to pluck bunches of nice wild flowers.
It was sunny and warm - we left our jackets at the school.

While in February we shivered from -19°C we are now happy with up to 18°C.

Special week in February 2012

The temperature was low - very low. It was freezing cold as you can see from the picture below.
The water froze while it ran out of the pipe.

The children liked the cold weather. They went ice skating on a pond close to our school.

The temperature dropped as low as -19°C degrees.

In their arts class our Grade 4s made wonderful sculptures from ice.

An icy special week it was!

Special week in November 2011

Autumn views in Germany during our special week from Nov. 7 until Nov. 11, 2011

It was often foggy in the morning - sometimes even until noon.

But then often the sun broke through and we had beautiful sunshine.

Alina went for a walk (actually with her dog).

Grade 4 visited the town of Siegen.
